History of District
Panjgoor is a district in the west of Balochistan province, in Pakistan. Panjgur was one of the three tehsils of Makran District until the 1st of July 1977, when the district became part of the Makran Division and Panjgoor became a district.
Some of the towns that are within Panjgur District are Tasp, Kallag, Paroom, Washbood, Gramkan, Sarawan, Khudabadan, Chitkan, Tar Office, Sarikoran, Bonistan, Hiraap, Sarekalat, Isaai and Surdo of Panjgur,
The Tar office used to be offices for the British Army during British Raj, as the headquarters of Makran.
A few archaeological sites including centuries old tombs, an old dam named Band-e-Gillar and remnants of a fort at Khudabadan are of interest in the district.
The historical castle of Nawab Kharan can be found in Panjgur.

In Panjgur there are 2 high schools for boys and girls, a primary school for girls, a primary school for boys, a middle school for girls and boys, some private schools, one teacher training school, a Cadet College and one DEGREE college.
Population
The population of Panjgoor district is about 380,001. Balochi is spoken in Panjgoor as a local language.
