About District Courts, Lasbella at Hub


The Court of Qazi Lasbella was established in 1952, and cases were proceeded in Tehsil Bella. However, with the passage of time, in the year 1965 the court was shifted from Bella to Uthal, being Headquarter of the District.

In June 1982, a civil law was promulgated in District Lasbella, and the court was transferred to Tehsil Hub and powers were vested with a Civil Judge.

Again in the month of January 1987, the civil law was repealed and Dastoor-ul-Amal Deewani Kalat was promulgated and since then it remains to date and so the Qazi Court has got multiple powers in its jurisdiction, such as civil, family and rent cases.

In the 1982, the court of Civil Judge 1st Class was established and started functioning in a part of the premises which belonged to the local government. The section allocated to the court was a three room quarter under the administrative control of the Session Judge, Khuzdar.

The post of Additional District and Sessions Judge, Lasbella at Hub was created in 1994, and the court of Additional District and Sessions Judge started functioning in the same building under the administrative control of District and Sessions Judge, Khuzdar till 1996. The Court of Judicial Magistrate, Uthal, was established in 1994 for hearing criminal cases. The Court of Judicial Magistrate, Hub was established in the year 1996 and hears criminal cases.

In 1996, when a court building for Additional District and Sessions Judge was constructed the court was shifted to the newly constructed building. In 1997 the post of Additional District and
Sessions Judge was upgraded to District and Sessions Judge and District Lasbella was declared as Sessions Division, Lasbella. The Court adjudicates all the criminal and civil nature cases along with Narcotics and Customs cases.

The Court of Member Majlis-e-Shoora Lasbella at Hub was established in 1999 and it adjudicates Civil Appeals against the judgments and orders of Qazi Lasbella at Uthal.

After the construction of a Sessions Court Complex in 2006, the Court of District and Sessions Judge along with the Presiding Officer 3rd Labour Court, Additional District and Sessions Judge, member Majlis-e-Shoora were shifted to the newly constructed Sessions Court complex. This newly constructed Sessions Court complex/building consists of 3 Court rooms, 4 chambers and 14 offices. The details are as under:

  • Presently the District and Sessions Judge also has the additional responsibility of the Presiding Officer 3rd
    Labour Court since March 26, 2011.

    Since the construction of the new court building and the shifting of the District and Sessions Court, Court of Presiding officer 3rd Labour Court and Additional District and Sessions Judge to this building the old block, which is situated in the same premises is now used to house the Senior Civil Judge, Hub, Judicial Magistrate, Hub, Family Judge, Hub, Bar room and Lockup.

    The Family Court, Hub was established in 2007, for the expeditious settlements and disposal of disputes relating to marriage and family affairs.
