Gardenning at Usta Muhammad
Usta Muhammad
February, 8, 2013
On February 6, 2013 we were warmly welcomed by the District and Sessions judge in Usta Mohammad. In our initial meeting we discussed the overall agricultural situation in the area and how it has been adversely affected by the recent floods and then went on to talk about the garden in the court premises. We visited the Forest Nursery at Usta Muhammad and selected 50 plants to be planted in the court premises.
The area around the court is limited so careful planting is required. The main source irrigation is a canal, which provides more than adequate water.
Plants which do well in this area are:
- Guava
- Bougainvillea
- Euphorbia
- Neem
- Roses
- Jasmine
- Motia

A revisit to the Usa Muhammad premises was a pleasure. Sweet soil had been delivered to raise the level of the lawn and flower beds. Unfortunately, the plants suggested and offered by the Forest Nursery had not yet been delivered.
Conclusion
The area around the court building has limited space, but the planting of some bushes and flowers is possible. We also visited the site for the new court building.
