About District Courts, Quetta
District courts exist in every district of each province, and have civil and criminal jurisdiction. In each District Headquarters, there are numerous Additional District & Session Judges.
A District & Sessions Judge has judicial powers all over the district under his jurisdiction. The Sessions court is also a trial court for offences under the Penal Code and is an Appellate Court for decisions of Judicial Magistrates and Civil Courts.
The Sessions Court in Quetta used to function in the building of District Court (Katchery), Quetta. In the year 1994, the Sessions Court, Quetta was shifted to the current building, which used to be High Court till year 1993 as then the High Court shifted to a new building. The Civil Courts still function in the old premises of the Katchery at Shahra-e-Adalat. Currently the following courts and offices are function in the sessions court:

The District Court (Katchery) building has following courts functioning in the court premises:
